Cannabigerol (CBG) is one of the less abundant phytocannabinoids that is receiving growing interest for its unique pharmacological properties. CBG is the precursor molecule, or “Stem Cell Molecule” if you will in the evolution of all the cannabinoids found in various plant species, including hemp.

Like THC and CBD, CBG is found as Cannabigerolic Acid (CBG-A) first within the plant natively, and is decarboxylated to CBG with heat, light and time. CBG binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors in the Endocannabinoid system similar to the way THC performs, but without the undesired psychotropic and euphoric effects.

PRO TIP: Look for full spectrum hemp extracts that contain CBG to take advantage of the enhanced Entourage Effect combining multiple cannabinoids and terpenes together.

Xtractscience is thankful to have the opportunity to participate with other industry professionals in the advancement of both CBG and cannabinoid science medicine research globally through education, advanced extraction and formulation technologies.
